OFFICIAL JERSEYS
How the national team was chosen
The following criteria were considered in order of importance:
1. International results: All international competitions have been evaluated. The evaluation took into account the difficulty coefficient of the tournament and the ranking of the opponents faced. These tournaments, and in particular those of the European Tour Series (ETS) and German masters, represent the most useful context to assess the level of athletes against high level opponents and different play styles.
2. Athletic Commitment and Condition: Positive evaluations were assigned to players that have demonstrated consistency in training, willingness to follow an athletic preparation and participation in competitive activity.
3. Experience: At the same technical level, the experience gained in competitive contexts - especially in international ones - has been a factor of assessment.
4. Yield in national competitions: The performances offered during the Italian season and the Winter League were considered. Even if it is a different competitive environment than international tournaments, it is a useful element to monitor the continuity of performance of players.
5. Meetings: Although not mandatory, the national meetings represent one of the main direct observation moments by the staff. The participation and attitude shown during these meetings contributed to the overall evaluation.
6. Couples Composition: The preferences expressed by players about teammates were taken into consideration, but the final decisions on the composition of couples remained the responsibility of the technical staff.
